4 [servconf.c sshd.c]
5 Move C/R -> kbdint special case to after the defaults have been
6 loaded, which makes ChallengeResponse default to yes again. This
7 was broken by the Match changes and not fixed properly subsequently.
8 Found by okan at demirmen.com, ok djm@ "please do it" deraadt@

10 [sshd_config]
11 Disable the legacy SSH protocol 1 for new installations via
12 a configuration override. In the future, we will change the
13 server's default itself so users who need the legacy protocol
14 will need to turn it on explicitly

17 - (dtucker) [entropy.c scard-opensc.c ssh-rand-helper.c] Bug #1294: include

5425009d 19 - (dtucker) [LICENCE] Add Daniel Walsh as a copyright holder for the
20 selinux bits in -portable.
ab26a796 21 - (dtucker) [cipher-3des1.c cipher-bf1.c] The OpenSSL 0.9.8e problem in
22 bug #1291 also affects Protocol 1 3des. While at it, use compat-openssl.h
23 in cipher-bf1.c. Patch from Juan Gallego.
76ef2ed2 24 - (dtucker) [README.platform] Info about blibpath on AIX.

40 - (djm) [configure.ac] add a --without-openssl-header-check option to
41 configure, as some platforms (OS X) ship OpenSSL headers whose version
42 does not match that of the shipping library. ok dtucker@
190d9b26 43 - (dtucker) [openbsd-compat/openssl-compat.h] Bug #1291: Work around a
44 bug in OpenSSL 0.9.8e that prevents aes256-ctr, aes192-ctr and arcfour256
45 ciphers from working correctly (disconnects with "Bad packet length"
46 errors) as found by Ben Harris. ok djm@

53 - (dtucker) [configure.ac] For Cygwin, read files in textmode (which allows
54 CRLF as well as LF lineendings) and write in binary mode. Patch from
55 vinschen at redhat.com.

61 [auth2.c sshd_config.5 servconf.c]
62 Remove ChallengeResponseAuthentication support inside a Match
63 block as its interaction with KbdInteractive makes it difficult to
64 support. Also, relocate the CR/kbdint option special-case code into
65 servconf. "please commit" djm@, ok markus@ for the relocation.
840bd607 66 - (tim) [buildpkg.sh.in openssh.xml.in] Clean up Solaris 10 smf(5) bits.

72 [ssh-agent.c]
73 Remove expired keys periodically so they don't remain in memory when
74 the agent is entirely idle, as noted by David R. Piegdon. This is the
75 simple fix, a more efficient one will be done later. With markus,
76 deraadt, with & ok djm.

80 - djm@cvs.openbsd.org 2007/02/20 10:25:14
81 [clientloop.c]
82 set maximum packet and window sizes the same for multiplexed clients
83 as normal connections; ok markus@
1e823acf 84 - dtucker@cvs.openbsd.org 2007/02/21 11:00:05
85 [sshd.c]
86 Clear alarm() before restarting sshd on SIGHUP. Without this, if there's
87 a SIGALRM pending (for SSH1 key regeneration) when sshd is SIGHUP'ed, the
88 newly exec'ed sshd will get the SIGALRM and not have a handler for it,
89 and the default action will terminate the listening sshd. Analysis and
90 patch from andrew at gaul.org.

8c1cb72e 94 - ray@cvs.openbsd.org 2007/02/24 03:30:11
95 [moduli.c]
96 - strlen returns size_t, not int.

103 [ssh_config.5]
104 do not use a list for SYNOPSIS;
105 this is actually part of a larger report sent by eric s. raymond
106 and forwarded by brad, but i only read half of it. spotted by brad.

113 [readconf.c]
114 Honour activep for times (eg ServerAliveInterval) while parsing
115 ssh_config and ~/.ssh/config so they work properly with Host directives.

129 [scp.c]
130 fix detection of whether we should show progress meter or not: scp
131 tested isatty(stderr) but wrote the progress meter to stdout. This patch
132 makes it test stdout. bz#1265 reported by junkmail AT bitsculpture.com;

138 [monitor_wrap.c servconf.c servconf.h monitor.c sshd_config.5]
139 Teach Match how handle config directives that are used before
140 authentication. This allows configurations such as permitting password
141 authentication from the local net only while requiring pubkey from
142 offsite. ok djm@, man page bits ok jmc@
99d804ce 143 - (dtucker) [contrib/findssl.sh] Add "which" as a shell function since some
144 platforms don't have it. Patch from dleonard at vintela.com.
56a6f96f 145 - (dtucker) [openbsd-compat/getrrsetbyname.c] Don't attempt to calloc
146 an array for signatures when there are none since "calloc(0, n) returns
147 NULL on some platforms (eg Tru64), which is explicitly permitted by
148 POSIX. Diagnosis and patch by svallet genoscope.cns.fr.

151 - (djm) [channels.c serverloop.c] Fix so-called "hang on exit" (bz #52)
152 when closing a tty session when a background process still holds tty
153 fds open. Great detective work and patch by Marc Aurele La France,
154 slightly tweaked by me; ok dtucker@
155
4b478cc5 15620070123
157 - (dtucker) [openbsd-compat/bsd-snprintf.c] Static declarations for public
158 library interfaces aren't very helpful. Fix up the DOPR_OUTCH macro
159 so it works properly and modify its callers so that they don't pre or
160 post decrement arguments that are conditionally evaluated. While there,
161 put SNPRINTF_CONST back as it prevents build failures in some
162 configurations. ok djm@ (for most of it)

169 - (dtucker) [packet.c] Re-remove in_systm.h since it's already in includes.h
170 and multiple including it causes problems on old IRIXes. (It snuck back
171 in during a sync.) Found (again) by Georg Schwarz.

0d00c5cb 175 - (djm) [openbsd-compat/bsd-snprintf.c] Fix integer overflow in return
176 value of snprintf replacement, similar to bugs in various libc
177 implementations. This overflow is not exploitable in OpenSSH.
178 While I'm fiddling with it, make it a fair bit faster by inlining the

525 loginsuccess on AIX immediately after authentication to clear the failed
526 login count. Previously this would only happen when an interactive
527 session starts (ie when a pty is allocated) but this means that accounts
528 that have primarily non-interactive sessions (eg scp's) may gradually
529 accumulate enough failures to lock out an account. This change may have
530 a side effect of creating two audit records, one with a tty of "ssh"
531 corresponding to the authentication and one with the allocated pty per
532 interactive session.

719 makes the pain stop in one easy step
720 NB. portable commit contains everything *except* removing includes.h, as
721 that will take a fair bit more work as we move headers that are required
722 for portability workarounds to defines.h. (also, this step wasn't "easy")

807 Add PermitOpen directive to sshd_config which is equivalent to the
808 "permitopen" key option. Allows server admin to allow TCP port
809 forwarding only two specific host/port pairs. Useful when combined
810 with Match.
811 If permitopen is used in both sshd_config and a key option, both
812 must allow a given connection before it will be permitted.
813 Note that users can still use external forwarders such as netcat,
814 so to be those must be controlled too for the limits to be effective.

2395 Add support for tun(4) forwarding over OpenSSH, based on an idea and
2396 initial channel code bits by markus@. This is a simple and easy way to
2397 use OpenSSH for ad hoc virtual private network connections, e.g.
2398 administrative tunnels or secure wireless access. It's based on a new
2399 ssh channel and works similar to the existing TCP forwarding support,
2400 except that it depends on the tun(4) network interface on both ends of
2401 the connection for layer 2 or layer 3 tunneling. This diff also adds
2402 support for LocalCommand in the ssh(1) client.
