21 Add support for tun(4) forwarding over OpenSSH, based on an idea and
22 initial channel code bits by markus@. This is a simple and easy way to
23 use OpenSSH for ad hoc virtual private network connections, e.g.
24 administrative tunnels or secure wireless access. It's based on a new
25 ssh channel and works similar to the existing TCP forwarding support,
26 except that it depends on the tun(4) network interface on both ends of
27 the connection for layer 2 or layer 3 tunneling. This diff also adds
28 support for LocalCommand in the ssh(1) client.
d20f3c9e 29 ok djm@, markus@, jmc@ (manpages), tested and discussed with others

47 [serverloop.c ssh.c ssh_config.5 sshd_config.5 configure.ac]
48 two changes to the new ssh tunnel support. this breaks compatibility
49 with the initial commit but is required for a portable approach.
50 - make the tunnel id u_int and platform friendly, use predefined types.
51 - support configuration of layer 2 (ethernet) or layer 3
52 (point-to-point, default) modes. configuration is done using the
53 Tunnel (yes|point-to-point|ethernet|no) option is ssh_config(5) and
54 restricted by the PermitTunnel (yes|point-to-point|ethernet|no) option
55 in sshd_config(5).

61 [channels.c channels.h session.c]
62 make sure protocol messages for internal channels are ignored.
63 allow adjust messages for non-open channels; with and ok djm@
6306853a 64 - (djm) [misc.c] Disable tunnel code for non-OpenBSD (for now), enable
65 again by providing a sys_tun_open() function for your platform and
66 setting the CUSTOM_SYS_TUN_OPEN define. More work is required to match
67 OpenBSD's tunnel protocol, which prepends the address family to the
68 packet

92 Enforce DSA key length of exactly 1024 bits to comply with FIPS-186-2,
93 increase minumum RSA key size to 768 bits and update man page to reflect
94 these. Patch originally bz#1119 (senthilkumar_sen at hotpop.com),

102 - (dtucker) [configure.ac] Bug #1126: AIX 5.2 and 5.3 (and presumably newer,

104 set ADMCHG after changing the password, forcing the user to change it
105 again immediately.
106
ccc45ee0 10720051125
108 - (dtucker) [configure.ac] Apply tim's fix for older systems where the
109 resolver state in resolv.h is "state" not "__res_state". With slight
110 modification by me to also work on old AIXes. ok djm@

224 change DSA default back to 1024, as it's defined for 1024 bits only

227 components of DSA key generation (e.g. the internal SHA1 hash);

1391 Make record_failed_login() call provide hostname rather than having the
1392 implementations having to do lookups themselves. Only affects AIX and
1393 UNICOS (the latter only uses the "user" parameter anyway). ok djm@
3bfd27d5 1394 - (dtucker) [session.c sshd.c] Bug #445: Propogate KRB5CCNAME if set to child
1395 the process. Since we also unset KRB5CCNAME at startup, if it's set after
1396 authentication it must have been set by the platform's native auth system.
1397 This was already done for AIX; this enables it for the general case.

1470 Have keyboard-interactive code call the drivers even for responses for
1471 invalid logins. This allows the drivers themselves to decide how to
1472 handle them and prevent leaking information where possible. Existing
1473 behaviour for bsdauth is maintained by checking authctxt->valid in the
1474 bsdauth driver. Note that any third-party kbdint drivers will now need
1475 to be able to handle responses for invalid logins. ok markus@
